Our Methodology

We utilize a variety of learning methodologies, all based on adult learning theory, including case studies, lecture/discussion, readings, small group learning teams, simulations, individual and team exercises and application workshops. All sessions are highly engaging and interactive. Many sessions begin with case studies or situations outside of education and will progress to the education context and conclude with a focus on the individual leader and application for action. Our experience has proven that new concepts and models are best learned through this progression and the learning tends to stick.

 

Each session is led by qualified instructors including professors from UVA and/or other universities, seasoned educators and leadership consultants. All will have extensive experience in the education context, either directly or through teaching or consulting. We also collaborate closely with school district leaders for the application workshops following each classroom session.
